Position Summary:
The Teacher is part of the Academic Team and is responsible for delivering a superior student learning experience through the delivery of classroom instruction, student assessment and guided tutorials as defined in the EC Teacher Standards. As part of the Academic Team the teacher, in collaboration with the Director of Studies sets individual learning and development goals and actively seeks opportunities to further develop teaching practice in the KSA context.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver lessons that meet the EC Teacher Standards.
  • Identify and provide language input and feedback to support learner progression.
  • Develop learner language skills as well as learning autonomy skills.
  • Establish a positive learning environment for all learners, ensuring that they feel supported and able to take risks with language.
  • Consolidate learning and ensure learner awareness of progress is maintained throughout lessons and courses.
  • Complete all administrative duties to a specified standard and timeline.
  • Delivers customer service to set EC standards.
  • Maintain professionalism in the school and teaching off-site.
  • Deliver lessons that are motivating and engaging with a focus on learning and progress.
  • Takes an active interest in self-development and creates and achieves teacher development goals.
  • Participates in internal and industry events to promote and facilitate best practice through active collaboration with other EC teachers.

Education Required:
  • B.A. Degree
  • CELTA / Trinity Certificate
Education Desired:
  • B.A. Degree
  • Cambridge Delta / Trinity Diploma
Experience Required:
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver high quality language lessons
  • Demonstrated ability to work with new technologies for teaching and Learner Management Systems/administration
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and achieve learning outcomes with Arabic speaking learners of English

Experience Desired:
Experience studying or working in a Gulf context
  • Experience planning and delivering low level English classes and courses to Arabic language speakers
Salary and Benefits:
  • Salary: $3,000 up to $4,000 per month depending on experience
  • One academic year contract (Renewable contract)
  • 30 days paid annual vacation + local Bank Holidays
  • Medical insurance provided
  • Housing Allowance - SAR1700- SAR2000 per month depending on experience or accommodation may be provided
  • Health Insurance provided
  • Economy flight to home country at end of contract
  • Transportation Allowance -SAR500- SAR650 per month based on experience
  • VISA from employer
  • Discretionary One month ESB – “End of Service Benefit” -paid after 12 months (half month of basic salary) based on specific targets being met (more details tbc)
  • CPD- “Continuous Professional Development” sponsorship towards CELTA, DELTA or diploma in TESOL. Teachers eligible for sponsorship towards qualification only after full 12 months’ service (more details tbc)
